I replaced a Dexter brake magnet years ago with a 071-057-00 replacement kit. Is the new Dexter kit number K71-057-00?

Yes, the Dexter brake magnets 071-057-00 and K71-057-00 are the same part and both are for 7 inch brake assemblies. Our replacement magnet is # BP01-068.
