My technical contact at Kat's Heaters confirmed that their Cartridge Style Engine Block Heater # KH11812 will install in your 2011 Jeep Compass 2.0L in a port located on the front/driver's side of the block. This heater does not require you to remove a frost plug since it installs into the cavity in the side of the block. It does not have to be inserted into the block's interior; it simply fits into the cavity in the block exterior which then transfers heat to the internal coolant.
If you should ever need to replace the removable cord for this heater we offer part # KH28405.
