Question:
Can you tell me where the brake controller port is on my 2017 Tiffin Allegro Red and what connector will work with it? I want to use the brake output wire to wire my motorhome monitor light rather than running wire all the way to the back of the coach.

To install the a brake monitor light on your 2017 Tiffin Allegro Red you will want to use the brake controller port that will be to the left of the steering wheel under the dash. The actual part number for that connector from Freightliner is PAC 12064754. This part should work for all Freightliner Chassis from 2004 to 2017.
The connector is a 6 wire connector with a cap on it. I attached a photo showing it with the cap in place and removed. There are 5 wires going into the back of the connector. The 12 gauge wire that is red with a white stripe is the brake controller output wire and would be the one to use for the motorhome monitor light.
The other wires going into that connector are as follows:
Brake Light Signal activated by brake pedal not the exhaust brake = Red with White tracer, 18ga
Illumination light if controller has backlighting = Brown
+12v supply to controller = Solid Red this is a 12ga wire
Ground = Black
When installing the motorhome monitor kit # RM-98850 you will need to cut the 12 ga red wire with white stripe and the ground wire. you can use those wires to wire the motorhome monitor kit.
Once that is done the brake controller output circuit in the 7-way at the back of the coach will carry the power to the motorhome monitor light. When using the Roadmaster umbilical, # RM-146-7, the center pin will be used for this circuit. I attached a video showing how the monitor kit is installed using the wire that comes with it for you to see the complete installation.
