Hi- can the spare still be mounted under the truck after installation of C13042? Thanks 1997 Chev Silverado-fleet-3 door-6.5 bed-K1500-4 WD-normal step bumper

Yes, the spare tire can still fit under your 1997 Chevy K1500 after Curt trailer hitch # C13042 is installed. It is recommended to remove the spare to make installing the hitch easier but then it can be put back in place. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.
If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # EBMK4. It comes with a ball mount with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop, interchangeable ball set, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
And for trailer wiring you can use # 118315 to add a 4-Way flat connector to the rear of the truck.
