Can Curt Trailer Hitch Be Installed On 2004 Ford F-150 That Has Factory-Installed Hitch
Updated 08/03/2016 | Published 08/02/2016 >
Question:
Hi, I was looking to purchase a curt class III hitch for my 2004 Ford F-150 and I saw that under the description in the installation notes that it would not fit if my truck there was a factory hitch previously installed? The one in my truck is starting to rust away and I was looking at replacing it with the curt. If i unbolt the factory one from the frame, could the curt fit? Thanks,

The Curt Trailer Hitch, part # 13357 will work on your 2004 F-150. The hitch you have will simply need to be removed. If it is welded on which some older model Fords did you will need to have it cut off the truck. The # 13357 will bolt to the frame of the truck. The note about no fit if you have a factory hitch installed means it cannot be installed in addition to the factory hitch on your truck.
This is a Class lll trailer hitch and it has a 2-inch receiver opening.
