Published 07/22/2016

Question:

My 4foot x 8foot ATV trailer is used in remote Nevada back country. Max. cargo weight is 1,200 lbs. Single axle is rated at 2,990 lbs. Use miles = 60 hwy 20 dirt/gravel roads 10 rough jeep trails. Tire size is 205/75-15. Q: Do you recommend bias or radial tires? Q: Which is more rugged off-road, the Kenda Karrier or Taskmaster Provider? Thanks much.

Expert Reply:

All of the tires we offer are designed for on-road use but would be okay for use on gravel or dirt roads. I almost always recommend the radials over the bias plies unless it's an agricultural application.

The wheel and tire I would recommend is the Taskmaster part # TA47VR since it has the tire size and tire construction you need but also because the tire on it is rated for 81 mph whereas most trailer tires are only rated for 65.
