Brake Assembly Replacement Recommendation for Al-KO 7k Trailer Axles

Published 07/08/2016

Question:

Hi, Im trying to confirm the correct brake assembly for my trailer. Its a 2009 14,000 lb dumper trailer. Has two axles so 7,000 lb axles. Cover says Max. Dia 12.090, AL-KO 8480, MTA2. Tires are 235/80 R16. Has the 8 bolts on 6-1/2 centers. The numbers on the other picture are on another interior part and say 6006 05-08A. Let me know how I can determine the correct brake assembly. Thank you.

Are the brake assemblies 12 inches in diameter and have 5 bolt that secure it to the mounting flange? If so, this is what you need.

For a 7,000 lb AL-KO axle you would want a Hayes/AL-KO brake assembly # 185100-150 for the pair.
