Question:
I want a hitch and a rear cargo carrier that will work together on my scion xb 2005. Will the Curt Class I Receiver Hitch - 2005 Scion xB work with the 17x50 MaxxTow Cargo Carrier for 2inch Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs ? Also will the Draw-Tite Invisi-Hitch Vertical Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4inch - 28501 work with that same MaxxTow Cargo Carrier for 2inch Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # C11487 is designed to fit your 2005 Scion xB. This is a Class l hitch and it has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening.
We do have cargo carriers that feature an 1-1/4 inch opening and are compatible with a Class l trailer hitch but MaxxTow does not offer a cargo carrier that will work.
I recommend a carrier like part # 63155. This is a Reese carrier and the inside dimensions measure 47 inches long and 20 inches wide with rails. This carrier has a weight capacity of 300-lbs. However, you will be limited to the capacity of your lowest rated component. I suggest consulting your owners manual to confirm what the tongue weight capacity is for your xb.
