Help Identifying Transmission Lines of a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan
Published 06/27/2016 >
Question:
Ive looked everywhere to try and find a diagram to show me where the transmission lines are in order to install the transmission cooler. I have no idea what Im looking for. Standing in front of the van , Im looking at the radiator. Theres two lines going up the right side of the rad all the way to the top. They start as metal then connect to a fitting with an aluminum pipe and then to rubber. Theres another fitting closer to the top where they change back to aluminum then go into the front of the rad. Please help with any info or diagram if possible. Thanks for your time,

What you described and sent in a picture of are the transmission lines on your vehicle.
The method we use to determine the correct line to install a transmission cooler on is pretty simple. You want to install the cooler on the return line.
To determine which line is the return line you will want to start with your truck totally cooled off. Start the truck and put it in drive, apply the brakes firmly and then apply the accelerator slightly so that the rpms climb. Put the truck back in park and shut it off.
Now go out and feel the two lines leaving the radiator. The cooler of the two lines is the return line and the one to install the transmission cooler on.
