How to Install the Valterra Waste Valve Extension Rod Kit T1046-12VP

Question:
I would like to extend my waste rod handle so it isnt so far under the camper. Do I need to remove the existing rod from the waste valve and use only the extension rod, or can I remove my existing handle and screw the extension rod onto the existing waste rod?

Expert Reply:
You do not have to remove the valve shaft on your waste gate valve to install the extension # T1046-12VP. The instructions for this part are as follows:
Unscrew the handle while holding valve shaft with cloth between a pair of pliers and the shaft.
Attach the extension tubes by simply threading them onto the valve shaft.
To adjust up to 2 inches longer, loosen locknut and unscrew stud counter clockwise until desired length is reached. Then retighten locknut.
