Once the Curt Overbed, Folding Ball Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, part # C61301-52 is installed in the bed of your truck a second person is not required to operate the hitch. You just pull the door up that is near the hitch ball, then pivot the ball down to secure it and close the door to cover the hitch ball in the bed of your truck. The ball has a t-handle that makes it easy to raise or lower the ball.
I could not find any mention in the instructions of a required second person when installing the hitch.
