Question:

I looking for a transmission cooler for my wifes 2012 VW Routan SE. Will the transmission cooler for a 2012 Dodge Caravan fit my wifes minivan? Just let me know. Thx.

Transmission coolers are not actually vehicle-specific so any given cooler can be installed in many different vehicles so long as there is enough space for the cooler itself and for the fluid hoses, which you do not want to force to make sharp bends and turns (which can interfere with fluid flow).

Also, your transmission must have external lines that allow you to tap into that system to insert the cooler. There are two lines, send and return, and the one you want to tap into for a supplemental transmission cooler like # D13503 is the return line. If you start with the engine cold, start it and let is run for 15 seconds with the transmission in gear. Shut it off and check the lines; the cooler of the two is the return line.

If you transmission uses 5/16-inch lines you can use Derale Insta-Dapt Radiator Adapter # D13004.
