Question:
How much ground clearance is lost with a trailer hitch installation on a 2008 Honda Accord? In some photos it looks equivalent to the clearance of the existing muffler.

The ground clearance you would have on your 2008 Honda Accord would be right at the same amount that you currently have as the hitch will hang right at the same height as your 2008 Honda Accord.
I attached a couple pictures that show the relative height of the two.
I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well. From the top of the hitch opening down to the ground measures 11-1/2 inches.
