Replacement Boat Trailer Tire to Replace 155/80-13

Question:
I own a 1997 Shorelander boat trailer that came equipped with Titan radial tires with the size being ST155/80R13. The problem is that those tires are no longer available. I can find them in an automotive type tire but not a trailering tire. I contacted a boat dealer that I have known for a while and he recommended that I use a 215/60-8 in its place. Since you are the experts in trailer business, what are your thoughts and/or recommendations? I pretty much only average a couple of fishing trips a year, with the distance being anywhere from 225 to 450 miles each way. I dont want to encounter any problems trailering the boat when I do get a chance to go. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Rich

I have a solution for you, but the tire size you are looking for is no longer available. Instead the next closest size would be the 175/80R13 which will be right at 1.4 inches taller. As long as you have room for 3/4 of an inch more sidewall in your trailer fender well this tire size would work well.
The tire in that size I would recommend is the part # TTWTRTM1758013C which is a Load Range C with capacity of 1,360 lbs at 50 psi and a higher speed rating of 81 mph than most tires. Typically trailer tires are only rated for 65 mph.
Be sure to keep the tire inflated to it's max psi and you should be problem free on your fishing trips.
