Question:

Greetings, I am in the early planning of building a boat trailer and I am looking into suspension options. This is for a boat, 34 feet long and 14,000 lbs 1 If you were going to put together a trailer for the above what would you recommend? 2 If I were to go with Axels, how many would I need? and what is the widths available? 3 How may tires would this type of trailer need? Thank you

I would go with a tandem axle setup on your trailer as the tires will scrub less with a tandem vs. a triple. Tire scrub is when you are making a tight turn and tires on the back axle end up skidding across the pavement.

The Axleless System part # TASR7KS01 has a 7k rating and would work well as long as you are sure the weight of your trailer does not exceed 14k.

For hubs you would want the part # 42866UC3-EZ which have a 7k capacity and a 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern. For brake assemblies you would want the part # AKEBRK-7R-SA for the right hand side or part # AKEBRK-7L-SA for the left hand side.

Then for a wheel and tire setup we have the part # LHACK133 which will fit the hub and will also have enough capacity.
