Question:

I have one of these on my trailer hitch, also purchased from etrailer.com. I cant get it open with the key provided now. any suggestions?

I pulled up your order notes and it looks like your ordered the # e98881 a little over a year ago which would indicate to me that the problem is possible some dirt or corrosion inside the key hole that is preventing the key from turning. Use a spray lube like WD-40 with a straw to direct it into the key hole. Let it soak for a couple seconds and then work the key in and out a few times. That should get the key to turn again.

If it really is stuck you can soak the end of the lock with the core in some gear oil overnight and that should really get it working again.
