Question:

`I have a 2010 Acura TL and tried truck mounts but there wasnt a big enough lip to set the rack on the lower part of truck. You list a number of racks that work with the sedans but thought I may need a hitch type. Are you sure that they will rest correctly on my car?

The trunk-mount bike carrier I recommend for your 2010 Acura TL is the Thule OutWay, part # TH45JV.

This bike rack has the patented FitDial that is used to create a custom fit for your vehicle and make sure it fits every time you want to use it. Another great feature for this bike carrier is it uses 2 vinyl coated steel cables to secure the bike carrier to the back of your car. This is much better than the typical 4-6 straps used by most other bike racks.

This bike rack also has an integrated cable lock that secures the bikes to the rack and locking covers that go over the release levers to help secure the rack to your trunk.

If you are planning on carrying bikes with alternative frames like kids bikes or women's bikes I recommend using an adapter bar like part # 64005. This attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem and allows the bike to be carried more level in the carrier while providing additional ground clearance.
