Question:

the listing of hitches for my vehicle, 2008 passat Wagon shows the same hitch for wagon and sedan on two of the brands, but some have a different one for the wagon/sedan.. why the difference? and will they any of the three fit my wagon? thanks

I've spoken with my Curt representative who confirms that they have a different hitch model for the sedan # C11091 and wagon # C11096. The C11096 will fit your Passat wagon, unless it's a 4motion model.

Of the available hitches, You would use the Curt Class I hitch, part # C11096 which is a confirmed fit for your Passat wagon. All the available hitch fits for your vehicle have the same weight capacity and would install in a similar manner.

Additionally, the Curt # C11096 has a warranty stipulation for their Class I and II hitches that states a stabilizing strap like # 18050 needs to be used for non-trailer loads like bike racks.
