2 Brake Switch Wires have Power with Brake Pedal on a 2016 Ford Escape

Question:

On my 2016 Ford Escape there are 4 wires in the harness on the break switch and 2 wires have power only when the brake pedal is pushed. Is that common and can I use either one.

Test both of the wires with the head lights or turn signal on. If one has power during this test and the other does not then use the one that DOES NOT have power when the head lights or turn signal on to install a brake controller in your 2016 Ford Escape.
