For a 2010 Ford Explorer the cold brake light switch wire should be a purple and white wire. You will want to test it to make sure with a circuit tester like # PTW2993.
I have linked a video that shows our installer installing a brake controller on a 2010 Explorer and he shows where you can find the wiring inside the vehicle about the 6:15 minute mark for you to better see.
