You definitely want to replace both leaf springs on your trailer's axle to avoid tracking issues.
It is almost impossible to tell the actual length of a leaf spring when it is installed and under load. It is far better to remove one and then measure it, keeping in mind that a really old and/or well-worn spring can actually become elongated from years of use. It is possible for a leaf spring like # e54SR to become 1/2- to 3/4-inch longer after many years of use.
You also want to ensure new springs are rated to match your axle capacity, which is usually noted on a sticker or plate on the axle beam itself. All double-eye leaf springs are shown on the linked page. I also linked our page for all trailer suspension components.
