Question:

I have two questions 1 What is the difference between the D13502 and D13503 transmission coolers? 2 Assuming this was installed on a new vehicle with full warranty from manufacturer, have you heard or know if this kind of modification would void a manufacturers warranty Subaru in this case? I realize you cannot give legal advice but curious if you folks know?

Other than the Derale # D13503 being slightly larger than the # D13502, there's no difference between the two. Both heat exchangers operate on the same principle, but because the # D13503 has a slightly larger surface area, the # D13503 would do a slightly better job.

The best spot to mount a transmission cooler is behind the grille, in front of the radiator and A/C condenser. You'll want to compare the amount of available space to the dimensions of the heat exchanger to make sure they'll fit.

Consumers of aftermarket vehicle accessories are protected against vehicle manufacturers arbitrarily voiding warranties by the federal Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act. The Act states that vehicle manufacturers cannot deny warranty coverage because people use aftermarket products unless they can prove that the aftermarket product directly caused the problem in question.

If its correctly installed, the transmission cooler won't have any warranty implications. I've linked you to an install video showing a cooler being installed on a 2012 Outback.
