Question:
What material are the brackets that mount the Stromberg Carlson bike rack to the rv ladder made from? I am talking about the black pieces in the picture.

The brackets that secure the Surco Ladder Rack part # SP501BR to the ladder are made of aluminum. The only black pieces on the rack are the frame cradles which are made of plastic.
You could be referring to the black pieces that are actually attached to the ends of the ladder rungs which are plastic, but that is not part of the rack. I attached the picture that you may be referring to.
