Question:

New to 5th wheel towing, recently purchased a used husky 15k 5th wheel hitch that came with valley rails, unfortunately didnt come with any hardware to install the rails. Ive seen a few universal install kits online for other brands but havent found one for the valley rails. Does valley make a install kit for their rails or would it be better to order a set of husky or other rails to make sure they fit the husky hitch. Are all 5th wheel rails standard to fit, like mount spacing and hole size?

The good news is that your Husky 15K 5th wheel hitch will fit in industry standard above the bed rails. But there won't be a Valley kit that will fit because they are no longer in business. And the Husky hitch you have isn't the same as the Husky hitches that are available now. And finally, you can't mix brackets and rails from different manufacturers because they are not tested or rated together.

So basically, all you will need is a new installation kit with industry standard above the bed rails. For that I recommend the semi-custom kit # RP30035-186 because it is going to be the most cost-effective and because a universal kit alone will not work on your 2005 Dodge Ram 2500.

For industry standard rails the mounting spacing for hitches is the same across the brands. I have included a picture showing the measurements for you.
