Question:

Can I put this etrack adapter and part IMF14086 s hook adapter on the cargo buckle itself at the same time and then use whichever endinch makes sense for a given situation? Sometimes the etrack strip on the decking will be the best mounting point and other times a D-ring welded to my trailer frame. Kind of like pigtails on a single cargo buckle.

Yes, you can install both S-Hook Adapters # IMF14086 and E-Track Adapter Straps # IMF14087 together to give you a handy choice of strap fastener style for securing your cargo. Both parts are rated for the same 2500-lbs break strength and working load limit (WLL) of 833-lbs. You may need longer bolts to reach through both items' mounting points but chances are good that these will work together just fine without need for alternate hardware.

You'll also want to take care to prevent the unused strap from bouncing around on your cargo.

Tie-down straps should always be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The item being tied down must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used.
