How to Add Dedicated Turn Signals to a Trailer with Combined Function Taillights

Question:

Hi my question is on your 118158 im wiring a turn light half way down my trailer and i like it to be jest turn and tail light and no brake can i use that 118158 jest on that one light and the lights on the back leave normal. So if i wire that in to the box but the same point run the main harness rest of the way back to normal lights and the ather end of the 118158 jest to the one light i want to do to eliminate brake on make sence thank you

I know what you are trying to do, and it is possible with the part # 118158.

To add a separate turn signal on your trailer you would use the # 118158 to just tap into the trailer turn signal/brake light circuits but you would not interrupt the circuit that runs back to the taillight assemblies. This way the output side of the converter box will have the separate taillight signal for you to run to the additional turn signal and the rear taillights will still be combined.

I attached a diagram that hopefully helps you see what I mean by how to wire the box to your trailer.
