What is the distance from the hitch opening to the ground on a 2016 Subaru Outback?

Expert Reply:
When we installed the hitch on a 2016 Subaru Outback, we found that the distance from the inside top of the receiver tube to the ground is right at 14-3/4 inches, as you can see in the photo I've provided. You can also see an install video by clicking the provided link. As long as your vehicle has the stock suspension and tire size, the hitch height should be the same when it's installed on your Outback.
If you'll be using the hitch for towing purposes, you might also be interested in the following:
Trailer wiring harness, part # 118467 (not compatible with Sport models)
For Sport models, use # C59496
Ball mount, part # D-4
1-7/8 inch trailer ball # 19260 or 2 inch ball # 63845
