Yes, to carry a bike with fat tires up to 5 inches in width on the Swagman XTC bike rack part # S64670 you will need to use the fat tire adapter part # S64674.
To use this rack on your 2013 Mazda CX-5 you would need to have a hitch installed like the Draw Tite part # 76138. I attached a demo video that shows this bike rack being used on a 2013 CX-5 just like yours.
