Troubleshooting Hopkins Trailer Wiring Harness 42515 that Fails Every Couple Years
Published 11/03/2015 >
Question:
This is my third trailer connector I have had to purchase in 6 year Hopkins part # 43515. Just wanting to know if you have any other issues with this trailer connector or am I the only one.

The part number 43515 is our part # 33515. We have quite a few reviews on this wiring harness where our customers have said that it worked well for them.
I am sure we have a similar harness by a different manufacturer that you could try. But without knowing what vehicle you have it's hard for me to make a recommendation since the 43515 fits so many different vehicles.
Is there a short on your trailer's wiring. Typically when a harness goes out it is because of a short on the trailer's wiring or from harness getting overdrawn. This harness does only have a 2.1 amp rating per circuit.
Check the wiring of your trailer for exposed wire or corrosion and fix as necessary.
