Question:
I havent been able to find a bike rack to fit the hatch of this suv because of the spare tire. And this spare tire has a hard cover on it. So I wouldnt be able to use a mount that bolts to the tire rack. Im shying away from buying the hitch mounts because in order to still be able to open the hatch, I would have to take out a second mortgage. I really like the FullBack, but didnt think it would suit my situation because of the spare on the hatch. Any suggestions. Ill only be carrying 1 bike. Its an electric bike that might be close to 30-35 lbs. Thanks for your help

My recommendation is to install a trailer hitch on your 2006 CR-V. You are correct that a rear-mounted carrier like the FullBack, part # Y02634 would not work with the spare mounted on the rear hatch.
The trailer hitch I recommend is the Draw-Tite, part # 75690. This is a Class lll hitch and it has a 2 inch receiver opening.
The carrier I recommend for your electric bike is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2-Bike Carrier, part # HLY84FR. This carrier has a tilting feature that allows you access to the rear cargo area of your CR-V.
