Installation was fairly simple and everything fit as it should. We have not had the opportunity to haul four bikes yet, but the extension feels very stable and secure and I expect it to perform like a Thule.

by:

Product: Extension is good. All parts were in package. All holes were positioned properly and assembly took maybe 30 minutes or less. Weight limit is 72kg for 4 bikes per instructions. Final construction looks good and solid.
Etrailer: awesome folks. You are rocks!
Shipment was fast taking into account covid and other obstacles all companies are struggling now

by:

Product is made with solid materials and the rack looks beefy and strong. Installation was very easy and took about 20 minutes.

by:

Good product as advertised. Good communication from trainer and follow-up.

  • Installation Instructions for Curt Front-Mount Hitch 33328 for 2004 Honda Pilot
I linked the installation instructions for the Curt hitch # 33328 which is the front-mount hitch that fits your 2004 Pilot. This front hitch requires no drilling and bolts on with included hardware using pre-drilled mounting holes as noted in the photo. I also included two helpful articles and a video on hitch installation. One article covers the entire process and the other article and video address the process of cleaning out the Pilot's frame weld nuts. These nuts can develop corrosion...

  • What is Weight Capacity of Thule T2 Pro With and Without Extension
The Thule T2 Pro part # TH83JV that you referenced has a 60 lb per bike capacity when used as a two bike rack but when using the add-on part # TH9036XT the overall bike rack is then limited to 160 lbs. This would mean for three bikes you'd be limited to 53 lbs per bike.

  • Availability Of 2 Bike Add On For Thile TS TH916
Hello Jerry. Unfortunately the 2 bike add-on for the Thule T2 TH916 is no longer available. The add on, part # TH916XT has been discontinued for quite some time. We sold our last one back in 2011. If you are in need of a 4 bike rack, you will need to purchase a new rack. One like the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # TH69TX is a great option that will be similar to your T2 Classic. I have linked a few of our review videos for this rack below.

  • Removing 2 Bike Add-On From Thule T2 Bike Rack
I reached out to my contact at Thule and she wasn't able to offer any additional advice with regards to removing the 2 Bike Add-On # TH9036XT from your T2 Bike Rack. There are 2 bolts at the connection point on the mast that need to be removed before the piece can be taken out. Additionally you will need to loosen up the linkage with the included hex key, which is threaded into the center bolt hole below where the Add-On piece slides in. Once this is done you should be able to simply...

  • Availability of 4 Bike Rack for Use on an RV
I am guessing by RV you mean camper or 5th wheel trailer. If this is the case then I recommend using the Lets Go Aero V-Lectric Bike Rack # LGA77FR. This is compatible with up to 2 bikes but can be expanded to a 4-bike system with the 2-Bike Add-On for Lets Go Aero V-Lectric Electric Bike Rack for 2" Hitches # LGA94FR. It isn't a traditional platform rack but it does secure the bikes by their wheels so there is no frame contact and has a whopping capacity of 75 lbs per bike, making it a...

  • Trouble with Removal of Thule T2 Add-On
Other than the two bolts in the shaft the only thing left to be done when trying to remove the 2 Bike Add-On for Thule T2 Pro XTB # TH9036XT would be to loosen the linkage using the hex key. The linkage is threaded into the center bolt hole below where the Add-On piece slides in. If you have already done that as well, then you are not missing anything else that needs to be removed. It is likely binding up from shifting around during use. Try moving it around and trying to remove it with...

  • Comparing the Inno Tire Hold and Thule T2 Pro XT Hitch Mount Bike Racks
Between the Inno Tire Hold # INH120 and the Thule T2 Pro XTR I recommend the T2 Pro XTR hands down. It can handle up to 5" wide tires as opposed to 3" like the Tire Hold, it can accommodate a larger wheelbase (50-1/2"), plus it is a little easier to load the bikes since you have the one arm that holds it in place really well. The other great thing is that you can convert the T2 Pro XTR to a 4-bike rack if you need to do that in the future with the 2-bike add-on part # TH9036XT. Really...

  • Is There a Adapter to Be Able To Carry Skis On a Thule T2 Bike Rack?
While Thule does offer their Tram Ski and Snowboard Carrier Adapter # TH9033 for a Hanging Bike Rack # TH9024XT, they do not have an attachment for a T2 # TH9036XT. If you do not have a roof rack for the Carrier # TH732508 you might consider the SeaSucker # SEA46ZR which will use its vacuum cups to secure to your roof.

  • 2004 Honda Accord Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2-Bike Rack that Can Adapt to 4-Bike Rack
Thank you for all of the details regarding your situation! I will do my best to address all of your concerns so that you can go on rides with your sons in the future. You are correct that an adapter will reduce the weight rating of the trailer hitch by 50% but the good news is that it won't reduce the weight rating of your vehicle at all (which is 100 lbs for tongue weight found in the owner's manual). For your 2004 Honda Accord EX you need to use the Curt Trailer Hitch # C11327 as it...

You have narrowed down your choices to three really great bike racks, but between the three I recommend the Saris SuperClamp EX 4 Bike Rack # SA4026F for a few different reasons. A feature that really stands out with regards to the Saris SuperClamp design (especially when compared to its peers) is its overall length. When it's folded down for use it measures just 46 inches long from the center of the hitch pin hole on your vehicle to the furthest point of the rack. By comparison the Kuat...

With your Curt # 13390 hitch, you can add an adapter like # D-192 (45792) but it will reduce the trailer hitch tongue weight capacity by 50%. The T2 Pro 2 bike rack # TH83JV and 2-bike add-on # TH9036XT, when used together, have a total weight capacity of 160 lbs and weigh 113 lbs, so you will still be under the hitch weight limit.
