If your 2008 Honda Ridgeline did not come with a factory 7-Way and you are not having the OEM 7-Way installed by a Honda dealer then what you will do is hardwire in a brake controller using # ETBC7.
If the brake controller harness under the dash is fully functional then what you would do instead is use # 37185 and wiring kit # 5506. You would plug in the brake controller like normal but you would remove the blue wire from the end that plugs into the truck and instead attach it to one end of the wire in the 5006 kit. You would then route the wire through the firewall, under the truck, and attach to the blue wire on the 37185.
Please note that the 5-Way will plug into the 37185 but the 5th wire would attach to the 37185 purple wire.
