Question:
Hello, I have established the correct part number for the block heater needed for my 2013 Mazda CX-9, however I need to know where the install location is, are there any pictures suggesting which freeze plug is best to use. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, the Kat heater # KH11409 will work on your 2013 Mazda CX-9 as we confirmed this with Kat's. You will install it in the rear of the engine block in the most accessible of the freeze plugs that you can find.
The instructions are written well but installation by a certified mechanic is recommended. See picture I included.
Coolant will need to be drained prior to installation and replaced once complete.
Another installation note is the heater # KH11409 must be installed and submerged into coolant before energizing. If not, the element can burn out in seconds. Use a 50/50 solution of antifreeze and distilled water as well.
