Recommendation for Re-Using Deck Board Screw Holes When Replacing Wood on Trailer
Question:
I have a Pace American Worksport trailer and I am planning to remove and replace the deck boards. My question is: Can I use the old screw holes?. I am thinking about drilling pilot holes up from the bottom through the new deck boards to line up the the holes with the old ones. I am concerned that the screws will not hold properly if I use the old holes. If I dont line up with the old holes I need to make sure I am far enough from the old hole to get a complete new hole. Also concerned about having too many holes in the frame. Any guidance with this is appreciated. Thanks,

It would be a good idea to go with different holes for the reinstallation of the deck boards on your trailer, or at least enlarge the ones you have and then go with the next thicker screws so that you know you are getting a good grip on the metal with the new screws.
