Should All of the Wheels of a Tandem Axle Trailer be the Same Size

Question:

I recently bought a 1984 excel travel trailer for hunting/fishing use. I was going through different checks including tires and noticed that I have 14 inch wheels on the front and 15 inch wheels on the back axle! I have never heard of this. I looked at the wheels to see if they all looked the same and yes, they are all steel wheels and the same exact style as well. So, do certain ones go on front and back or???? I am completely lost. You really want to use the same size trailer wheels and tires on all the wheels of a trailer. If the tires of your setup are both the same outer diameter they should work if you absolutely had to move the trailer, but I would recommend replacing two of the wheels/tires with a new set that matches what is on the trailer.

I attached a link to a page that has all of the wheels and tires we carry. You will need to first determine the bolt pattern of your current wheels (see attached link), and then select the size you need from the filters.
