Hi there! My boyfriend has a 2005 Scion XB. Id like to get him a roof rack and hitch for it. He currently has a naked roof, no other hardware or rack. The roof rack will be used to carry two, 50 lb each kayaks. The hitch will mainly be used for carrying a bike rack for two bicycles. Can you recommend a roof rack and hitch? First let's start with a hitch. The Curt Hitch part # C11487 would be a great option that has been confirmed as a fit.
For a roof rack the Rhino Rack that consists of part numbers # RRVA137B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK138 would be a great option as well. What nice about this rack is that it doesn't cost as much as the other "nicer" roof racks but it is still a high quality roof rack. This rack has a 110 lb capacity, but you would still need to check the owners manual of your vehicle to determine the capacity of the roof and be sure not to exceed this figure as well.
