How to Jack Up Trailer for Equalizer Replacement
Updated 09/09/2015 | Published 09/08/2015 >
Question:
I will be replacing the equalizer and shackles on a 22 foot stock trailer. What is the correct procedure using jacks and jack stands to insure that the assembly stays in position as I take it apart ? The axle is above the spring. I would like to insure that the bolt holes stay relatively close to the bracket holes.

Helpful Expert Reply:
First you would want to jack up the trailer frame and then use jack stands to support it so that you can lower the jack and the wheels will be off of the ground.
Next you will want to slide the jack under the first axle so that you can raise it up to about where it sits normally in relation to the trailer frame. Put another jack stand on this axle and then move to the next axle and do the same.
