Is a Radial Tire Recommended Over a Bias Ply Tire

Question:

I have a small tear trailer I built 2 yrs ago and is now in need of tires after 12,000 miles. the originals are bias ply tires and I am thinking of going Radial. the trailer weight is just under 900 lbs. I am looking at this tire as a replacement for my application, I almost never exceed 65mph while towing. I would like your opinion on this tire as to reliability and wear.

Radial tires are preferred over bias ply tires so I would recommend you go that route. A radial tire flexes more than a bias tire, giving it better ground contact, traction, stability, and tread wear.

A radial tire will normally run cooler than a bias ply tire, especially when the tire is under a load. A tire that runs cooler will last longer.

Without you mentioning what size you have on your tire it's hard for me to pick out the correct replacement tire, but if you need a ST175/80R13 then the part # TTWTRTM1758013C that you referenced would be the correct tire to use.
