Will Breakaway Cables Weaken Over the Years and Shear Off
Updated 08/11/2015 | Published 08/10/2015 >
Question:
I Understand that breakaway cables just need to be strong enough to actuate the lever, my concern is how strong will it be a few years down the line, will not shear off?

The breakaway system should only operate after both the coupling and the safety chains have failed. If maintained properly it should last the lifetime of your Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator # T4093200. Breakaway cables just need to be strong enough pull the lever on the coupler should the trailer come off the pintle.
