Adapter Recommendation for Bulb Out Code on Vehicle After Installing LEDs on Trailer Wiring
Question:
I purchased the STL70RB to replace an incandescent bulb in my Triton Bass Boat Trailer. Lights are very bright and a nice upgrade. However, every time I use the turn signals , I get a turn signal bulb failure message followed by a brake bulb failure message on the Escape. I didnt know this problem exists. I have a seven round pin plug on the Escape and I use a 7 round to five flat adapter to hook up my trailer. My trailer has surge brakes. What do I need to do to eliminate the bulb failure messages on the Escape?

Did the problem start right when you installed the LED trailer light? Does it go away when the trailer is disconnected? If so, then the problem has to do with the reduced amperage draw of the LED taillights.
An easy fix then would be to use the # C35FR instead of your current 7-way to 5-way adapter. This product has diodes built into the adapter so that your vehicle will think the trailer lights are incandescent.
