Will Ultra-Fab Chock and Lock Wheel Stabilizers Work on a Trailer w/Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers

Question:

I have a 2016 reflection 337rls fifth wheel with Equa Flex suspension. Can I use my Ultra-Fab Products 21-001070 Ultra Deluxe Chock and Locks with this suspension. In theory you would set the chocks once for the distance between the wheels and then just flip the lever to tighten them the next time. Is it normal for the distance between the wheels to change. One side fit fine and the other was much wider than when I set the chocks initially. Do I need different chocks? I really liked these because they worked well when I had to use leveling blocks.

It sounds like the axles are not quite aligned. To determine if that is the case you can measure from the center of the front wheel to the center of the rear wheel on one side then do the same on the other side. If they are off by more than 1/8 of an inch you will need to adjust the axle positions by loosening the suspension, making adjustments, and tightening it all back up again.

It would take a lot of force to compress the rubber springs in the Equa-Flex system and you would not be able to do it just by using Ultra-Fab Chock and Lock Wheel Stabilizers # UF21-001070 so I do not think either of these parts is the problem.

It is also possible that suspension components are getting worn allowing things to move so have the suspension inspected. Egg-shaped holes indicate excessive wear and that component should be replaced.
