Factory Trailer Wiring Activated by Dealer Not Working on 2013 Dodge Durango
Updated 07/28/2015 | Published 07/27/2015 >
Question:
i installed a Reese hitch last week and used factory wiring to add brake control along with Hopkins 7/4pin plug. I had the dealer activate wiring through TPIM. The dealer says everything is working properly but when I connect the trailer all Im getting is running lights, no brake or turn signal. I hooked up a friends truck and the trailer lights work perfectly. Any thoughts on what the problem could be?

It could be that there are fuses or relays missing on your 2013 Dodge Durango that will make the tow package wiring fully functional. to test to see if the dealer's set up is indeed working properly you can test the vehicle side connector using a circuit tester such as # PTW2993. If you are not getting power at the trailer connector, then there is a problem on the vehicle end and the dealer will probably want to recheck to make sure the computer is set up for the tow package wiring.
