Can I plug a 4 way into this so I can use either on my 2006 jeep wrangler. Looks like it would be convenient.

You can certainly use the 4 to 7-Way Adapter on your Jeep Wrangler. Your Existing 4-pole would plug into the connector on the adapter. The remaining wires would be attached as follows; the white wire should be grounded to the vehicle, the black wire can be used to provide 12-volt power for trailer mounted accessories that require it, the blue wire carries the brake output voltage from a brake controller, and the purple wire is typically attached to the reverse light circuit for trailers equipped with reverse lights.
