Question:
Can the TR-1 support a 16inch tire and wheel-8 lug?
asked by: Bill J
Expert Reply:
Yes, the Bumper Mount Spare Tire Carrier, # TR-1, can support a 16 inch tire with an 8 lug wheel. However, you will need to make sure your trailer has a 4 inch continuous welded steel square bumper that is rated for carrying weight. The tire and wheel combo of a 16 inch tire probably weights closer to 75 pounds. The carrier, # TR-1, can handle the weight and bouncing but the key factor is having the correct bumper that is rated for the combined weight of the tire, wheel, and carrier. For a folding version of this carrier check out # TR-2.
