Troubleshooting No Brake Lights Working After Hopkins Wiring Install # 46365
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
i hooked this harness #46365 up on my 2014 kia sportage. I have running lights and turn signals working. the 2 turn signal wires hook up on left side behind the bumper. and the running light wire behind the tail light. there are 3 other wires behind behind the tail light. i hooked the red brake wire from the converter to each of those wires and none of them was able to have the brake lights work. what do i need to do to get the brake lights working. thank you.

You will need to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to find the circuit that only sees voltage when the brakes are applied and use it for the stoplight circuit for the # 46365.
It sounds like maybe you haven't found the correct circuit to use yet and that is why the stoplights aren't working.
You should note that the recommended trailer harness is the part # 118526 that is a custom fit harness that would be much easier to install than the # 46365. I attached an install video
