The Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier # M2200-01-02 is 22-inches tall when assembled so it would not allow your Grand Caravan's rear hatch to open when it is in place in your hitch and in use. But since this carrier folds flat when not in use (as you can see in the linked video) in this folded state it WILL allow your rear hatch to open. But note this carrier will be very close to your rear bumper when installed in your hitch and may actually just touch it.
This carrier requires use of a hitch pin # PC3 or an anti-rattle lock like # 63232 to secure it in your hitch.
We also offer a swing-away enclosed cargo carrier from Yakima, their # Y62VR, that can be moved away from your rear hatch even when loaded with cargo up to its weight limit of 100-lbs. The enclosed pod can be locked to the tray or removed, and it offers 10 cubic feet of internal space.
