I would recommend the Curt Hitch, # C11412 for your 2015 VW Golf. This is a Class I rated bolt on trailer hitch with a 1-1/4 inch square receiver. The class rating and receiver size are important to remember when choosing a bike rack.

Depending on your preferences, I have two recommendations for bike racks for you. For a platform bike rack, I would recommend the Swagman XTC Platform Rack, # S64670. A platform rack makes it easier to load your bikes, and has the benefit of securing the bike in three places. The XTC is a lighter weight platform rack that is ideal for your Golf and a Class I hitch.

For a hanging style bike rack, I would recommend our Kuat Beta Folding Aluminum bike rack, # B202-114. This bike rack allows access to your hatchback by folding away from your car. Because this bike rack is made from aluminum, it only weighs about 12-1/2 pounds.

If you will be carrying any women's, children's, or alternative frame bikes, then I recommend looking into a bike adapter bar, like part # UB01. Bikes with small or angled frames can be difficult to load on bike rack arms and this adapter allows you to load the bikes quickly, easily, and safely. I have attached a demonstration video of this adapter bar for you as well. If you are interested in locks for the bike rack, you can use part # S64031 for the XTC and part # HL1 for the Kuat Beta.
