Will BrakeMaster for Motor Homes with Air Brakes # RM-9160 Work on 2006 Winnebago Journey
Question:
I am looking at the Roadmaster 9160 for my 2105 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4 door. I am towing with a 2006 Winnebago Journey 32T diesel with air brakes. Is the 9160 a good fit for this towing combo? Do you know if the Journey has the spare air brake fittings on the back of the coach. That would seem to make installation easier. Also thinking about the Roadmaster Invisibrake. What are your thoughts when compared to the 9160? Thanks much.

The Roadmaster BrakeMaster with BrakeAway for Motor Homes with Air Brakes, part # RM-9160, is certainly a good choice for an RV like your 2006 Winnebago Journey 32T diesel with air brakes. This system requires recurring set-up each time you need to use it, unlike the Roadmaster InvisiBrake # RM-8700 which is a one-time set-up. Given the modest upcharge for the InvisiBrake system, this is what I suggest. My associates who flat tow agree this is the easier-to-use system.
I have linked an installation video for the InvisiBrake showing its use in a Wrangler.
I do not have access to the specifics about your motor home but if you contact Winnebago with your VIN number they should be able to provide information about the presence of air brake fittings.
