Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Question:

what is the difference between Curt trailer wiring part # C56049 and # C56241. It seems the C56241 needs a wire to a battery source and C56049 does not. Is that correct and if so why does one need a battery source wire and the other does not? I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS non hybrid. I want the easiest one to install for a light trailer.

Since your 2011 Hyundai Sonata is a non-hybrid model you would want the part # C56049.

The # C56049 does not require running a wire up to the vehicle battery so it would be exactly what you want.

Some vehicles have pretty delicate taillight wiring circuits so it is necessary to power the trailer taillights from the battery to protect them.
