Published 06/02/2015 >
Question:
i know all of my trailer lights work. right now only the left blinker and brake light work. no running lights. the ground on the trailer is good. the problem has to be the ground in the truck itself but i can not find where the ground is hooked up too in the truck. any sugestions?

If you are certain that the ground on the truck is the problem then what you can do is run a new ground from the back of the trailer connector directly to a clean, bare metal surface on the truck frame. Make sure the new location is free of corrosion, paint, and undercoating.
If you continue to have issues then make sure the truck and trailer side connectors are both clean and free of corrosion inside where the wires attach and on the pins.
The light grounds should also be attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. If there is anything between a light ground and the metal trailer frame or if the trailer has an aluminum frame, tilt bed, or folding tongue, any of these things can interrupt the ground. Running jumper wires from the light grounds to the main trailer connector ground can help.
